Meet the members of our Board of Directors

Our Board of Directors are a team of dedicated leaders, driven to serve our communities by empowering children in their development.

Each of our directors and advisers unselfishly give because they are committed to “World Peace, One Child at a Time.”

Edward Robles – Founder, President/CEO

Ed is a highly accomplished civic leader who has given much of his time to charitable organizations. Ed rose from active volunteer to the position of Chairman for the National Conference for Community and Justice, a human relations organization dedicated to fighting bias and bigotry in America. As a volunteer, he was awarded the Distinguished Merit Citation Award and applauded for his commitment and dedication to the organization’s goal of making the nation a better place for all.

Ed has also served as Co-Chairman of the Technology division of the Chamber of the Americas, and on the boards of the Latino/a College Leadership Institute, the Herb and Lani Alpert Scholarship Fund, and the Center City Community Center. He currently serves on the Colorado Council for Community and Justice and is the Founder and Chairman of Operation Project HOPE. Ed is currently the Director of Sales, Latin America for Euronet Worldwide.

Mark Kempton – Treasurer

Mark is retired from a successful career in the finance industry. He has most recently served as the Chief Financial Officer of Bovalan, Inc. where he spearheaded projects related to and involving financial projections, business plans, investor presentations, and account and financial management for start-up companies in the international mobile SIM card industry. Prior to that the was Senior Vice President of Indy Mac Bank.

Mark has been active on a number of Boards of Directors such as United Way of Sacramento, Parent Teacher Council Our Lady of Malibu School and Annual Event Committee for Our Lady of Malibu School. He has been actively serving as the Finance Chairman of United Way, and has successfully taken the organization from a significant deficit to a surplus in just 3 years.

Yvette Rapose

Yvette ZR Rapose – Vice President

Yvette has dedicated her professional career to public service. Over the last 20 years, she has worked in local, state and federal branches of government; always holding leadership positions with the ultimate goals of ensuring a fair allocation of resources to historically disenfranchised communities. Yvette has served the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority for the last 14 years. Starting out in Government Relations, today Yvette is the Director of Construction Relations.

She manages several teams that perform public outreach, stakeholder communications and construction impact mitigation on high-profile capital projects. She has served on the boards for the Latino/a College Leadership Institute, Herb and Lani Alpert Scholarship Fund and Las Hermanitas. She is adjunct faculty for Coro, where she has trained grass roots community members in ethical civic leadership to promote broader civic engagement and expand the social capital of the community. Yvette is also a trained facilitator for the National Conference of Community & Justice, Diversity Matters, and 9-Dot Solutions.

Julie Leaf

Julie Leaf – Vice President

Julie has a passion for being of service and improving the lives of others that extends to all of her endeavors.

Julie is committed to making a positive difference and brings her vitality and talent to several charitable causes with which she has worked for the past seven years. As the founder of Giving Day LA, Julie has raised thousands of dollars to provide holiday gifts to families in need. For the past several years, she has also been a volunteer coach for at-risk youth at Camp Choice and has donated several thousand dollars to this worthy cause with the intention of empowering youth to make positive change in themselves and their communities by realizing the power of choice, responsibility, and their effectiveness as positive leaders.
