Sandy Dunbar
Program Manager
Sandy has an extensive background in strategic planning, corporate communications, compliance, and public health. Before joining Operation Project HOPE (Helping Other People Everyday) as the Program Manager; she served as the Chief Operations Officer of San Diego American Indian Health Center (a premier Patient Centered Medical Home for the underserved community) and as a Quality Director at UnitedHealth Group. She has experience leading "safety net" health care organizations as well as non-profits.
Mrs. Dunbar is a Six Sigma Master Black Belt and certified project manager (PMP) who has over 15 years of team leadership experience. She has built project teams and facilitated LEAN process improvement activities in both nonprofit organizations as well as Fortune 500 companies with great success. Sandy holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology from University of California, Santa Barbara and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from California State University, Long Beach. She is a Southern California native- born and raised in the San Fernando Valley, and currently resides in San Diego with her husband and teenage daughter. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering at no kill animal shelters, and being outdoors snorkeling in La Jolla cove. Mrs. Dunbar is a proud graduate of Operation Project HOPE Leadership Academy Team 5. |
